easter celebrations.

our celebrations started off with having passover dinner with friends, fish and becca, on saturday evening.  the homemade matzah ball soup was to die for, followed by cornish game hen.  the evening was filled with lots of chatter, laughter and a round of catchphrase.

on sunday, we ventured to church with the cheeks and the buckleys.  everyone was in their easter finest and the weather was sunny and warm.  the cheeks had us over for a scrumptious brunch where we got to catch up with our sweet friends.  it was a lovely easter celebration with friends!

on our agenda.

for this weekend.
and i'm so excited.

just grab:
1 cup flour (125g)
1 1/4 cup milk (300ml)
2 eggs
2 tablespoons of oil or melted butter. (30ml)
a pinch of salt
Nutella
bananas

Mix the flour, salt and milk. Beat in the eggs and add the oil or butter. Get your pan just hot enough to make a drop of water sizzle. If your pan isn’t non stick, add a drop of butter to it. Use a ladle to pour the batter into the pan. As fast as you can swirl the pan to make the batter into a circle. This is fun to master. These cook so fast. After about 20 seconds, you are ready to flip. Let that side cook and then you’re done. This recipe makes about 12-16 crêpes. (recipe and picture from design*sponge.)

a day in san fran.

before the wonderful wedding festivities began - jeffrey and i had a nice relaxing day in san fran.  the day was a beautiful one and we wondered down to the waterfront, enjoyed lunch and did some shopping.  it was lovely.

a san francisco wedding: the ceremony and reception.

on saturday the festivities continued as the gals got ready and the guys did who knows what (well actually that is not true - i think they were chillin at a bar watching sports.)  and before we knew it was game time.  the fog rolled out just in time for a BREATHTAKING ceremony overlooking the pacific ocean.  it is probably one of the most beautiful locations i have witnessed for a wedding.  the bride and groom wrote their own vows making the ceremony even more warm and intimate.  we then ventured over to the log cabin for more good times, great food and a night of dancing to fantastic music.  it was a beautiful evening in every way.  congrats congrats dear friends!

a san francisco wedding: the rehersal dinner.

two of our favorite people in the entire world got MARRIED this weekend in san francisco - maggie and travis.  this weekend was nothing short of spectacular.  the gatherings, the celebrations, the people, the food, the merriment were all beyond fabulous and just kept getting better as the weekend progressed.  the first celebration was a welcome gathering (aka rehearsal dinner minus the rehearsal) at the lovely hotel adagio, which is such a charming hotel located in downtown san fran.  the evening was a warm and intimate one as many loved ones toasted the happy couple.  it was lovely and filled with many good times.

 {me and the bride}
we have been friends since the 2nd grade and showed up in the same color dress and shoes!  how funny is that! :)

art fun.

 aren't these so fun!?
chinese photographer Liu Bolin is cleverly covered in paint so that he disappears into his surroundings. apparently, it can take up to 10 hours to prepare for a single shot.
 isn't that some fun art!?

spring has sprung.

it's official.  spring has finally made its way to these parts.  one day it is beautiful 75 degree weather and the next back to 50 degrees and raining, which has pretty much summed up the last month here in dc.  all the rain has brought the lovely flowers and trees out to say hello.  and dc sure does love their tulips too.

all the tulips are courtesy of our landlord keith and live in our front yard.  they are marvelous and people stop to look at them all day long.  xoxo

a weekend jaunt to mississippi.

we jetted down to the old south this weekend
to continue the celebration of kata and drew's union.
the weather was warm (alleluia),
the trees were green,
and the people were real nice.

it was just lovely to spend time with family.

three.

{april 5, 2008}

dear jeffrey,

it is pretty crazy to think that three years ago today i walked down the aisle to you at st. pauls.  and we danced the night away at hotel zaza surrounded by amazing family and friends.  what a memorable way to start our life together.

i cherish all the lovely memories we have created.  i absolutely LOVE the place we are in right at this very moment.  and i can't wait for all the adventures we have left to come our way throughout our life together.

i love you and love having you as a life partner.

love,
your wife
