ballet class.

this september, logan started taking ballet class.  and so far, she is LOVING it.  the tutu not so much {it took me four classes to convince her to wear her tutu and who knows how long before she wears her adorable ballet shoes, such a little tomboy}, but she is really enjoying the movement and dancing aspect of class; she is a mover and shaker for sure.  i also think she is really enjoying the independence that comes with this class.  it is a drop off class {the mommy and me classes are over! at least for now} - so that is a win win for both of us.

this week's art projects.

1. purple tower and colorful airplane - i let logs go to town with popsicle sticks and glue and she created these items.  i am totally in love with the airplane.  she then painted them with tempera paints.

2. beaded bracelets - we used pipe cleaners and beads from michael's - this activity kept her entertained for a while and she kept going back for more.  i have been wearing my bracelet that logan made me all week :)

3. clay creations - a brown dragon fly and a green bean!

am LOVING this stage right now.  an art teacher's dream i tell you.

sugar and spice and everything nice...

i don't think this is a news flash for any of you...but we are happy to announce that we have what appears to be a HEALTHY baby girl coming this january!  we are thrilled about this baby joining our family and beyond thankful/grateful that she keeps getting healthy reports from our doctors.  passing the 20 week ultrasound with a healthy report was a big deal for me.  i felt like for the first time in this pregnancy i could relax a bit, let go of {some of} my anxiety and start to really get excited and hopeful for this baby entering our lives.  this whole journey thus far has been a roller coaster of emotions to say the least, but i have learned that comes with the territory of parenthood.  you make yourself so very vulnerable with these amazing little beings and all you can do is hope, pray and think positive thoughts for their well being from day one to day a million.

bday party fun.

we helped celebrate logan's buddy - olivia - turning three this weekend.  a photographer at the shindig captured some great photos of logan having a ball at the party.  p.s. the weather this weekend in houston was FABULOUS - welcome fall - we are so happy you are finally upon us!

sunday suppers.

we kicked off another season of welsh sunday suppers this past weekend.  it was a wonderful success and my favorite part is that my family did leave the kitchen.  not once.  i guess we just like to be all huddled together.  i'm so happy these gatherings are in place - last weekend we toasted our beloved aggie, celebrated an engagement and sang happy birthday.  one of life's many gifts - celebrating loved ones.

logan's first soccer practice.

we signed up logs for some 2's and 3's soccer on saturday morning {jeff sure jumped at the chance!}  despite, an epic fall in the parking lot that took a full 20 minutes to get over, logs started to warm up at the end once a surprise {her jersey/t-shirt} was promised as well as a sticker.  these toddlers are so bribe-able :)  ha!

logan's "big girl" room.

we have slowly started working on transitioning logan's room from her nursery to her "big girl" room.  we removed her crib a few weeks ago and so far so good on her sleeping in her bed.  {fingers crossed it stays this way!}  i decided to keep the same color theme that i had going on her nursery {bright yellow, orange, turquoise and a small amount of pink} so we didn't have to switch out alot of items.  it is slowly coming together with a few more goodies we would like to acquire.  some more artwork {my plan is do a small gallery wall on the side of her bed and maybe something small above her headboard?}, remove her chair {since we do all her reading in her bed now}, and my latest plan is for jeff to build her a doll/playhouse for her upcoming birthday.  think we are gonna totally copy this one from young house love.  jeff working with wood, me decorating another house and a doll house for logan - win-win-win for everyone right!?  hopefully we can pull it off come november.
