i'm sure it is no secret that i'm very enthusiastic about doing art with logan - i mean every art teacher's dream - right!? well, we tried crayons/markers last week and she just kept biting off the tops and trying to eat them. so, naturally i thought {at the last minute} - sure logan can help me with a project and have her first experience with painting. mind you this is my project {an art display for logan's playroom}, but i loved the idea of logan helping out - sure sounds like a great idea - right. well, wrong. and this art teacher made the mistake of introducing my child to painting with acrylic paint - seriously, what was i thinking. i was thinking i just want to do art projects with my child and we will just make it work.
the picture above was at the beginning when things were looking up - perfect - how great - she will help with making her own art display. well, things just went down hill from here. naturally, logs proceeded to paint everything except for the clip boards - her feet, her hands, and then started to eat the ACRYLIC paint - ahhhh - we had to stop early and figure out how to get inside without tracking paint on our new floors and how to get in the shower without leaving acrylic paint on every shower surface. long story short - we figured it out and all is fine. but, this art teacher needs to think through some more toddler friendly art projects before we get down and dirty again.
