happy early tgiving!

it has been extra COLD here in htown recently and we have been taking full advantage of wearing our sweaters, hats and boots!  or as logan calls them "booooooooooootsssssssss."  think it will make this thanksgiving feel even more festive with the chilly temps. 

hope everyone has a lovely holiday this year celebrating with loved ones.  we can't wait for turkey day and then miss logan maeve's official bday on the 29th!  we are taking her to ride the choo-choo train, which she doesn't stop talking about these days.

FINALLY got to meet sweet ellie!!  katie {and slade} are dear friends in dc and are in town visiting family for tgiving.  little ellie was born back in june and we just kept missing each other until now.  so wonderful spending the morning with them.  loved getting to meet their little cutie!

zoo lights.

earlier this week - we headed to our first "zoo lights" held at the houston zoo with some friends.  this week has been for members only, which we hear is the way to go since next week {until xmas} it is a zoo at the zoo.  see what i did there.  and friends, we had the best time.  it is so magical to be at the zoo at night time and even more amazing when the whole place is lit with xmas lights!

an early bday celebration....

for miss logan maeve!

we decided to celebrate logan's bday a tad early this year - it worked out so well last year before the craziness of the holidays.  we had a festive and simple gathering filled with logan's favorite things - balls and bubbles.  we invited her new little friends along with family {aunt becca, uncle chris and aunt kata were in town!}.  the weather was not the best - sprinkling and humid - but it did not seem to bother the kiddos one bit.  it was a lovely morning of celebrating our little gal being TWO.  i just cannot believe she is two years old - she is our absolute JOY!!

zoo fun!

we are so very happy to have aunt kata, aunt becca and uncle chris in town!!  we have been gathering for dinners, park dates and today ventured to the houston zoo.  the weather has been fabulous for getting outside and we are so happy to have family in town to love on.

girls weekend.

this past weekend, megan and i met carol in memphis for a girls weekend.  these two lovely ladies are some of my absolute favorite people in the world and i'm so thankful for them and our wonderful friendships.  we met in memphis because carol is back from laos {!} to have baby #2 this christmas.  it has been over a year since we have been reunited and it felt sooo very good to be together.  it is amazing what being around loved ones can do to brighten your spirits and just help with the whole healing process.  we did some lovely memphis-y things like grabbing a drink at the peabody and stuffing our faces with some good ole {pork!} bbq.  as well as some relaxing things like getting pedicures, dining out {!}, and sleeping without babies {guess that was just megan and i - poor carol and willa are still adjusting from jet lag}.  but, thanks ladies for the good times.  i sure do love yall!

what a difference a day makes.

always amazing to me to see how fast these little kiddos can bounce back from not feeling well.  yesterday logan was on deaths door - her doc thinking she had hand, foot and mouth, which i'm not so sure cause that is supposed to last daaaaaays.  maybe it was just a throat virus?  who knows - but i'll stop playing doctor now.  

and today - she is a whole new kiddo - wanting to play outside in this wonderful weather!  i sure will take it!
