we toasted our dear friends, the reeds, this past weekend as we said bon voyage!  they are headed up to austin soon and we are so very sad to see them go!  luckily, austin is only a three hour drive.  we will miss them terribly!

six months {nora james}.

my dearest nora bear,

happy half birthday sweet girl!  simply amazing that you are already six whole months.  you have been trying lots of new foods this past month and the funny thing is you keep gagging on veggies and loving your fruits.  i really can't blame you because honestly i feel the same way :)  if we mix the veggies with the fruit you seem happy, so we are rolling with it.  your favorites include: pear, apple, banana, kiwi and blueberries.  you do not like peas, squash or green beans so far, but we will try again soon to see if your tastes have changed.

you braved your first airplane ride this month and did ok.  not great, but not terrible either - so we will take it!  we have lots of plane rides coming up, so hopefully you will get the hang of it.

your happy demeanor and constant smiles are going strong!  we just cannot get enough of your joyfulness, so keep up the good work my sweet girl! you love to "play" with your big sister and are always wanting her constant attention.  i look forward to seeing yalls relationship blossom as yall get older.

we love you dearly love bug and are so very happy to have you as such an important part of our little family!

4th of july festivities.

our family jumped on an airplane {nora's first one!} to join my parents, brother {zachary} and girlfriend {barbara} in santa fe, nm to celebrate the 4th of july and my dad's big birthday! great food, wonderful company, fabulous weather, amazing scenery and just a LOVELY time away!  here are a few photos!

logan maeve {3.5 years}.

my sweet girl,

you are a ball of fire and we love you so!  you have a whoooole lotta feelings these days and anytime you hear the word "no" you get real sad or mad or start saying "that really hurts my feelings."  you also tell us all the time how much you love us, so keep that up love bug, we love to hear it  :) 

you have handled your transition into your big sister role wonderfully well and we could not be more grateful.  you have loved helping out, constantly want to play and hold nora and get sad when she is not with us.  you have your moments, which is to be expected, but overall just want to love on nora. 

thank goodness your obsession with "chicken" is over and now you are on to "turtle."  you sure do love your stuffed animals!  turtle travels with us everywhere and you have already announced that you want to be a turtle for halloween.  you actually want us all to be a family of turtles.  we shall see if this idea plays out come october. 

you ask for treats EVERY.SINGLE.DAY and also started to ask for a dog.  your mama cannot imagine taking care of anything else at the moment, so a doggie will have to wait until you get older. 

one of my favorite things that you are doing right now is when you are super upset and crying from a bumped knee or getting your feelings hurt is to sit in my lap and brush all the hair off my shoulders as you start to calm down.  it is so sweet and i just wanted to write it down so i don't forget it.  cause time is moving at lighting speed and you are growing up just way too fast.
