holiday celebrations {part one}.

eleven months {nora james}.

my little nora bear,

i cannot even begin to tell you how much of a delight you are.  always laughing, always giggling, always smiling, snuggling, playing, we just cannot get enough of you.  one new trick is when you wave bye bye while you whisper "bye-bye."  we are not really sure if you are connecting waving bye-bye and saying the word bye bye.....because "bye bye" and "dada" are your favorite babbles and you say them all day long, but we will happily take it!  and you actually love to SCREAM "dada." 

our all time favorite new trick is your snuggling and hugging.  we ask to snuggle and you lay your head to the side on our chest and then you check to see if we are paying attention, all while flashing your huge, dimple-filled grin.  it is really stinkin cute.  you have also started hugging as well, especially in the morning when we are saying hello.  so keep up the love sweetie, we just cannot get enough.

you are actually scared of the xmas the tree (don't know how we got so lucky with that one, i thought this year was gonna be a doosey with you and the xmas tree) - but you patted it a few times and think it felt too prickly and want nothing to do it.  so that worked out well for this year :)  

you are standing all the time and we think walking is in your near future.  big sister has been cheering you on from the sidelines.  you continue to eat an insane amount of food, sometimes more than your dad and me at dinner time.  and the one thing you don't like is avocado - the perfect baby food.  books are really starting to hold your attention for longer periods of time, you love the card board ones and anything with a flap that you can bend, twist or turn.

we are so excited to celebrate your first christmas in a few short weeks.  and then your first birthday....how in the world did that already happen.  we love you sweet girl and are so very happy and thankful you joined our little family.

how in the world did you turn FOUR already?!  and what a magical age.  not as many tantrums (most days) and a whole lot of questions.  lots and lots of questions and "why" to every answer we give you.  big picture questions like "where do i go when i die" and "where was i before i was made?"  

your love of sharks is going STRONG.  you had your "show and tell" day at school today and all you wanted to bring was your shark goodies....shark books, shark stuffed animals, shark slippers, shark tattoos, shark stickers...the list goes on and on.  your love of super hero capes is also at an all time high.  you have three capes that you choose between each day on our way out the door, depending on your mood :)

you are such a loving and affectionate big sister to nora.  constantly wanting to play with her, get her up from naps, snuggle with her as well as cheer her on when she hits different milestones.  you are very caring and (mostly) gentle with her.  

nothing gets you motivated like sweet treats do.  you will do just about anything if we promise a treat at the end.  currently, this happens alot at the dinner table.    

you are a book worm and will read to yourself many times during the day and constantly asking us to read to you.  we have started leaving the light on when we say goodnight as you read yourself to sleep.  when we go in later to turn off the light, you have tons of books in bed with you.  i hope your love of reading continues sweet one.  

we absolutely LOVE watching your grow my logan maeve.  each day is a new adventure!  the joy and love you bring to our family is immeasurable and we are so happy you are ours.  we love you so very much sweet pea!

celebrating baby porter!

our dear and wonderful friends, mags and trav, are having a baby boy!  we are so stinkin happy for them and their little family!  we celebrated a few weeks back with lots of merriment, good friends, petifores, pimento cheese, and overall happiness for this little babe!  we cannot wait to meet him in person :)
