construction is underway.

and we are so pumped!  it has definitely taken longer than we were anticipating, but it has BEGUN and we are eager to get started!  here are a few photos from this weekend - the old {and nasty!} garage is no more - leaving room in the back for our addition and a new pretty green backward.  yay!

we wondered over to the greek festival this weekend and enjoyed family time, yummy gyros and some good ole people watching.  sadly, the weather was still WARM {even though we got a nice cool front yesterday and started pulling out our fall layers} so we didn't last too long at the festival.  logan sure did enjoy that coke bottle though.

a couple of weeks ago, the lovely alyse french {photographer of kata and drew's wedding AND becca and chris' wedding} came to my parents house for a little photo shoot.  we have been meaning to take some professional photos of our little miss logan maeve for some time now and we finally got around to it.  jeff and i jumped into some of the shots, so we got some family portraits as well.  you can check them out here.

welcome to parenthood.

well, we are recovering.  from the most horrific stomach bug i can remember.  first logan got it, then i got and then jeffrey got it.  nothing is worst in my opinion.  yuck.  jeffrey even had to call in sick to his very first day of work at his new job.  BUT, we are on the mend and will be feeling back to our normal selves very very soon.

ten months.

dear nug,

ten whole months with you in our life.  simply amazing nug.  you keep us laughing and smiling all day long and we just LOVE it.  we just LOVE you with all our hearts.

it has been a month of transition for our family.  we moved from your birth place of washington, dc to your parents' birthplace of houston, texas.  and you have been a CHAMP through it ALL, which included a cross country road trip, setting up shop in gram and pawpaw's house and enjoying the grandparents while your parents were away for one whole week.  all these changes can make such an impact on a little body, but you have handled it all beautifully.  we are so impressed.  you have not skipped a beat.  

in fact, you are moving at warp speed these days.  sporting some pretty hilarious crawl moves.  one being up on all fours like a bear crawl and the other is with one leg tucked under your body.  the best part is you constantly carry a toy in your mouth {kinda like a dog} so you always have a toy at your destination.  

you have found the stairs at gram and pawpaw's house and you cannot get enough.  you continue to be ALL SMILES all the time except for every now and then when someone looks at you the wrong way and you get sad.  you are starting to wave hello and goodbye by simply raising your hand in the air and we think it is pretty darn cute.  as is everything you do really. 

our hearts just melt every single day with you and we are so blessed and thankful that you are such a happy, healthy baby.  we cannot wait to see what you will explore next - we are so ready for this ride.

we had a ball in the pool with these two today - mags and trav.  who just finished the most amazing journey - hiking the PCT {a trail from mexico to canada}.  check out more of their story here.  we are oh so proud of them - simply amazing.  we are also so pumped that they will be in and out of htown for the next couple of months.  so we plan on getting in LOTS of good playtime.  and i mean LOTS.
