bbq cook off.

sorry about my lack of posts last week.  baby got sick and then mama got sick, so it was not a week of any happenings.  but, once we started to feel better, we headed to the bbq cook off {to kick off houston's rodeo season!}  jeff and i have not participated in rodeo festivities for quite some time and it was great to be back.  we got to see some old friends plus the people watching was pretty stellar!

logan and ben.

this weekend, logan had a ball playing with ben and we had a ball gathering with ben's parents - john and stephanie.  ben is such a CUTIE and is just one month younger than logan.  they are kinda rocking the same hair {blonde with curls} and it was such a treat to see these two cuties interacting. 

 Logan said, "Hey Ben! Lets pose for a picture while I tug on your shirt!"

 Or perhaps really tug on your shirt!

lots of great progress yall!  our cabinets are going in!  sadly, our new move in date got pushed back to march 1st.  but this is the official date - we even hired movers.  and we will get in that house march 1st even if i have to sleep next to all that sawdust.

uncle mike's bday.

we gathered on sunday evening to celebrate jeffrey's brother, michael, and his febuary birthday.  luckily, we had aunt kata in town to join in the celebration! {we sure missed uncle drew, aunt becca and uncle chris!} we dined on tuna steaks {beef steak for kata}, risotto, and green beans with the most amazing creamy mushroom sauce for the meat.  AND a delicious chocolate cream pie!  happy happy bday mike!

the zoo! with aunt kata!

logs, aunt kata and i headed to the zoo this morning to check out the animals.  aunt kata has been in town all week and boy has it been fun to play!  logs seemed to enjoy pointing out the birds the best, or maybe it was just the other kiddos that made her happy.  the day was beautiful weather wise and we loved having some quality time with aunt kata!

another cold?!?

poor little nug. yet another cold has come her way.  for the month of january, i think she has been cold free for maybe five days - all the other days have been filled with runny noses, coughs, sneezes, ear infections and fever.  oh the fever with this last one.  you sure did give us a scare this weekend with your 105 degrees - as we had to rush home from the wedding we were attending. 

i kinda thought the whole flu season wouldn't really effect us down here in this tropical climate, but boy was i wrong.

but, hopefully your cold days will be over soon and we can get back to playing, exploring and getting your little hands into everything.  we sure do miss your giggles sweet one.
