logan's first "all about me poster."

i know we have lots of "all about me posters" in our near future.  it is a part of early childhood education - but i didn't think they would be requested this early.  of course, this art teacher was thrilled to do an art project with my daughter as we created her first "all about me poster" together for mother's day out. 

houston museum of natural science.

this saturday was grey, rainy, and just a bit cooler!!  so, we pulled our jeans {!} out from storage and headed over to the houston museum of natural science - to hit up the butterfly center.  i have wonderful memories of going with my grandmother, gagee, when i was little.  recently, logan has shown signs of being terrified of BUGS - so we thought the butterfly garden would be the perfect place to warm her up to those bugs that are peaceful and pretty.  logan was NOT so SURE.  she kept very close and would dive into our necks if any butterfly got too close.  so we will try again and again and hopefully she will learn to love those beautiful bugs.

18 weeks.

this week i'm 18 weeks along in this pregnancy.  {almost half way through - crazy!}  i starting showing wayyyyy earlier this time around and began wearing maternity clothes at 9 weeks!  the 2nd trimester as been wonderful to me so far - no longer nauseous and sporting my baby bump.  we find out the gender the first week of october and of course i just cannot wait to find out!

p.s. - i'm sure you noticed in recent posts - but i've been living in this dress lately.  it is seriously the most comfortable frock ever.  from h&m and only $20!

sunday evening.

aunt kata and uncle drew were in town on sunday evening, so we gathered at our place.  they were in austin for the big ole miss vs. texas game - so we are so happy we got an evening with them.  we made an ainsworth favorite - steak and arugula, played some bocce ball {well the boys did} and just enjoyed each others company.  dare i say the weather is cooling off a tiny bit!?  we are starting to venture outside once the sun goes down - i just cannot wait to start spending time outside again.  we sure did miss the other ainsworths - mike, becca, and chris!!

a little house warming party.

we celebrated being "pretty settled" into our new home this weekend with a little house warming party.  a collection of family, new friends, old friends and neighbors came by to toast the new house.  it was a lovely celebration, although i wish the weather had been a tad bid cooler so we could have ventured outside without breaking a sweat.  sadly, this is the only photo i snapped of the evening.  our guest bathroom - my cousin lauren is killin it this week - and did all the amazing flowers with those artsy vases - loved them!

welsh sunday supper.

to kick off the fall season, my parents hosted the first welsh sunday supper of the school year.  all the welshes came out for the gathering and even the schmoes came in from the hill country to surprise sam for his bday and cousin aggie from san antonio!  good times all around.  here are a few snippets.

for the long weekend, we headed to my parents lake house for some relaxing time by the water.  the GREAT part was our cousins, the schmoes, joined us as well.  the schmoes recently moved to the texas hill country...so it was so fun to spend some time with them.  logan had a ball playing with cousins jason {almost 3} and casey {1}.  we enjoyed the pool, the view, home cooked meals, time in gruene, tx, and simply being together.
