house progress {the living room}.

okay friends, i decided to show yall some "in progress" photos of what the house is looking like at the moment.  we still have alot to do in each room, but the reality is it is going to take us a few more months until we get everything in the spot we really want it.  so, first up is the living room and it is the first room you enter when you walk into the house.

this is the original living room of the 1920's bungalow {we added square footage in the back of the house}, so we really didn't do much to this first room.  we did make it a working fireplace as it was not working before.  hopefully we will get to use it on more than one occasion a year :)  we also painted the brick white and added a little molding to mimic the arch that goes into the living room and then the kitchen.

we are going for a navy and coral color palette in this room.  the rug is a true navy - reads a bit more black in this picture.  our plan is put some color block curtains {navy and white} i've been eying on etsy around the windows.  we also have a dresser in the works that i'm adding campaign hardware to and painting it a glossy navy - it will sit on the wall opposite the fireplace.  {there are still boxes on that wall, so i didn't take a picture of it}.

still need to style the mantel and find another piece of artwork to go above it.  i love that black and white photo {thanks cheeks!} - but it is just too small for the space.  we are on the hunt for it to find another wall to call home.

and think we might add a plant in the corner next to the fireplace as well.  also, the pillows are being updated - probably with some nice coral and navy color combos - still on the search for those.
