logan's first haircut.

turns out she is not a fan of haircuts.  it literally took 5 seconds - i was just trying to shape up the hair around her face since it keeps falling in her eyes when she refuses to wear a clip.  i made sure the stylist didn't touch her curls in the back :)  so to anyone else - you can't even tell she got a haircut.  looks like it might be a while until we give it another go.

happy friday everyone!!

children's museum {in atlanta}.

i was super impressed with the children's museum in atlanta.  it is geared towards kids aged 1 to 5 or 6 ish with a TON of different exhibits.  in my experience it has been hard to find museums and activities to do with a toddler - all the kid friendly activities seem to be geared toward ages 4/5 and up.  but, this place was made for toddlers and logan was in heaven.

logan liked the milking part, but became quite nervous when the cow mooooooed at her.

this one is for you mags and trav!
a glimpse into her camping days.

atlanta aquarium.

last week, we ventured to atlanta as a family.  jeff's company is based out of atlanta, so he went there for work and logs and i just tagged along.  luckily, my aunt {dad's sister} and uncle live in atlanta and are located just 15 minutes away from the atlanta office.  so it was win win.  other than the throw up bug logs rocked when we first got there, we had a ball!  dianne, ray, logan and i kept busy during the day and then we had lovely long and delicious meals at night time.  it was a wonderful trip and we hope to go back again soon!

here are few pics of the amazing atlanta aquarium!  logan seemed pretty interested in the fish, but her favorite part was the big balls hanging from the ceiling.  that girl is obsessed with anything circular these days.

crepes.

well, hello!  sorry for my silence, but i feel like i am finally starting to feel better after almost 2 months of morning sickness {which lasts all day by the way - or at least it did for me}.  this time around, the sickness and exhaustion seemed even more challenging with a toddler running around - even though i was still teaching when i was going through it in my last pregnancy.  those toddlers just.don't.stop. even for a second :)

anyways, the cravings have begun and yes i'm eating a nutella crepe every morning like i did with logan.  i just can't seem to enjoy anything else for breakfast.  so, i have been using this super easy recipe.  logan has as well {but sadly cannot have nutella due to the hazelnuts, but has been enjoying the crepes dipped in honey}.  i believe we have a sweet tooth problem on our hands.

so far, the pregnancy has been pretty darn close to my pregnancy with logan - which makes me wonder if we are having another girl!?  jeff and i could seriously care less about what we are having - but of course i cannot wait to find out!  which will be the very beginning of october.  i will of course keep yall posted.

surprise!

baby ainsworth #2 is on the way!!  we are of course THRILLED and the little nugget should be arriving this february 2014!  not only are we so happy to be expanding our family to four, but i just can't wait to see logan with this little baby.  her names for baby at the moment include - baba, babas, and my favorite bebe {she sounds so french when she says bebe}.  i think there will be lots of hugs {maybe too many} and lots of interest in helping out {at least we hope so} and hopefully not too much jealously {yeah right}.  but we do know there will be lots and lots of love in our house and that is what we are so joyful about!

the pass.

last saturday night, we were able to get out and celebrate jeffrey's bday with a DATE!  it is amazing how luxurious it feels to be out and about with just each other past 8pm.  we had the most outstanding experience at the pass.  it is a newish restaurant in houston that offers tasting menus with amazing flavor combinations and a playful execution.  i wish we had remembered to snap pics of all the dishes {jeff had 8 and i had 5} - but we only really managed to capture these two dishes.

crackling pig {pork rind} with caviar on a bed of freeze dried ingredients and a layer of creme fresh underneath.  it is intended to be eaten like chips and dip.  amazing.

beet chocolate molten deliciousness with a citrus ice cream, fried phyllo dough and other goodness i can't remember.

it was an amazing night that lasted 3 hours {LOVE those long dinners!} - and if you are in the houston area - I highly recommend this place!

st. arnold's brewery.

as i mentioned in my last post, we headed to st. arnold's brewery to celebrate jeffrey's bday.  it has been on our list of things to do while in houston - so i'm glad we finally found some time for it.  it is a cool warehouse on the edge of downtown that offers tours of their brewery.  jeffrey was happy with an afternoon that centered around beer.

jeffrey's bday.

{logs is not so sure of that candle}

yesterday we celebrated jeffrey turning a year older.  i met him at work for a lunch date {wow it has been a while since we have been on the lunch date!}  logan was at mother's day out - so it was just me and jeffrey for lunch - glorious i tell you.  that evening, i made homemade tacos {per the birthday boy's request} and sang happy bday with his marble slab cake.  jeffrey is not a fan of cake {weirdo!} - so i got his favorite - cheesecake ice cream with kitkat mixed in - stuck a candle in it and that was his bday cake.

the celebrations continue this weekend with a trip to st. arnold's brewery, date night at pass and provisions, and lots of family time on sunday!

hope everyone has a lovely weekend!!

logan at 19.5 months.

my dearest girl,

you are a spitfire these days.  full of giggles, smiles, and squeals.  you are also testing your limits {or mama's}, starting those lovely tantrums and totally having meltdowns when i try to change your diaper or simply put your clothes on.  i even gave you your first time out yesterday.

you seem to be very empathetic, which i absolutely love about you.  you get very concerned when other kiddos are crying or upset.  you absolutely LOVE to give hugs and now kisses although we are still working on not strangling the recipients.  you are very into babies, pointing out every one we see and always wanting to run up and say hello.  when the time comes, i have not doubt you will be a wonderfully loving, caring and helpful big sister.

you continue to love water play and would spend all day outside if it wasn't for the heat or mosquitoes.  you are a true lover of books and are constantly asking "more" while you bring me yet another book to read to you.  i hope your love of books continues and you can develop a lifelong love for reading.

we love you beyond belief sweet girl and simply cannot get enough of you.  you are our joy.

all my love,

mama
