ainsworth xmas.

i haven't been the best at capturing the different festivities that started up last friday - but i did manage to get a few shots of us celebrating xmas with the ainsworth clan.  {we REALLY missed you becca, chris and king!}  it has been gorgeous weather ever since sunday - crisp blue skies, fallish colored leaves {something rare for htown}, and cooler temps.  which made the fried turkey {by mike and drew} all the more enjoyable to be outside.  here are a few snapshots of our celebration!

tis the season.

we are in full swing over here for xmas festivities and sadly, the ainsworth clan has come down with colds.  bad colds - the kind that last for like weeks.  yuck.  we are hanging in there and trying not to cough on people as we wish them merry merry xmas!

a quick pic of our cutie...on our way to see santa last weekend.  she was all smiles about that cape.  and all tears about that santa.

lights in the heights 2013.

it was wonderfully cold this year for lights and heights, which made the event all the more festive.  we had a pizza party at our casa with neighbors and their kiddos {all of which happen to be within 2 months of each other!} and then wondered out to see all the lights.  they close down a bunch of streets so people can just wonder along - enjoying lights, hearing christmas carols and even some bands.  logs refused the wagon/stroller this year and almost gave us many heart attacks as she darted around the busy streets. at night time. needless to say we didn't last too long.  BUT, still had a ball while we were out!

^^^^neighbor friends - the banchetti's with daughter olivia, us, the garcia's with son max, and the reeds with son cooper and newborn ellie.

thought it MIGHT go well as I have been trying to talk up santa all month.  logs was also super pumped about this adorable cape {my mom found in aspen!} and wanted to show it to santa, but alas still not a fan.  maybe next year!??!!

welsh women ornament exchange.

my cute cousin mereditha has started a little tradition of hosting the "welsh women ornament exchange."  we gathered this weekend for brunch, good food, festive drinks {the milk punch was amazing!}, and overall merriment.  it was such a lovely gathering of family.

we missed you cousin gina and cousin kathryn!!!

funny story.

well, my mom changed her name.  her grandma name.  she was gram - which was cute and just fine and all, but then logan started talking.  and as with many toddlers - couldn't say words that started with a "g" - she was saying "papa" {jeff's dad} and "pawpaw" {my dad} all the time.  but, no gram.  logan could say mimi pretty easily.  so my mom went and changed her name to mimi.  and now logan calls my mom "mimi" without skipping a beat.  she was not confused at all.  so gram is no more and mimi is the new grandma name.  that silly mimi....we love her so!  she sure does keep us on our toes :)

and then my baby turned two.

logan's birthday was the day after thanksgiving this year - which made the whole long weekend even more special.  {first we got thanksgiving, then log's real bday and then we spent the rest of the weekend decorating for christmas - it was such a wonderful long weekend and made me oh so happy}  anyways, we took logan to ride the choo choo train {at the houston zoo} because it is one of her favorite things right now as she constantly asks for the "choo choo."  then, later that evening, we had the welshes and ainsworths over for a pizza party with cake and champagne.

^^^this girl loves to blow out candles.  every time i mention her bday she starts trying to blow something out.

^^^ also loved that turquoise icing made by omi, but really who didn't - it was delicious!

tgiving 2013.

our celebration was low key, no stress and wonderful this year.  we got up early {as always with a toddler} and headed downtown for houston's thanksgiving day parade.  the weather was perfectly crisp and cool, which made things all the more festive.  logan was in heaven with all the big floats - all i needed was a little hot chocolate to make things perfect - will have to remember that for next year.

afterwards, jeff and i hosted at our house.  we had jeff's parents and brother, michael, over for the festivities.  lots of cooking and lots of deliciousness going on in our home.  it was a lovely celebration and best of all - since we cooked - we got to keep all the leftovers.  those amazing leftovers have been feeding us all weekend!

hope everyone had a fabulous holiday filled with love, cheer and good food!
