the fishmans come to town {part one}.

our wonderful, sweet, dear friends - the fishmans - came to town last weekend and it was LOVELY!  it was so great getting to spend quality time with them and especially getting a chance to know sweet little jordan {who is will be ONE in two weeks!}.  despite the weather turning warm and our toddler deciding to act like a terror half of the visit - we had an absolute BLAST.  and we knew we would - we love and miss these dear friends greatly and were so thankful that they made the trek.  fish has been intrigued with jim's annual crawfish boil for quite some time - so this was the perfect excuse for them to come for a visit.  here are a few pics from the crawfish boil festivities!

easter 2014.

well, hello folks!  i hope everyone had a lovely easter celebration last sunday, that is if you celebrate the holiday.  we had a LOVELY day filled with family, candy, eggs, sunshine, thankfulness and love.  we started off the day with logs diving into her easter basket.  we then scurried to church with jeff's parents and dined with family at lucilles for brunchy bunch.  delicious soul food if you haven't dined there before.  we then headed to my parents casa {aka the pink house}.  it was a very sentimental celebration at the pink house because it was our very last easter there.  my parents have sold the house that my brother and i grew up in and are moving on to a new venture!  it was wonderfully bittersweet as we said goodbye to the pink house.  the welsh clan was in full swing {the schmoes drove in from wimberly} and we had egg hunts, pinata fun, corn hole, delicious food and lots and lots of merriment.

we made the mistake of bringing "bunny" inside the house the week before easter and soon after logan and the bunny became quite the buddies.  logs was feeding the bunny, hugging him, etc.  so easter rolls around and i realize - yikes - logs might freak if people are beating down bunny.  after lots of chats about how it is ok to hit bunny the pinata and only bunny the pinata we emerged without a traumatic event - whew!

a little weekend getaway.

jeff and i celebrated SIX years on april 5th, 2014!  and since we are running around like chickens with our heads cut off on the actual day - we decided to celebrate last weekend with a relaxing weekend getaway to san antonio.  and it was so wonderfully relaxing!  lovely dinners out, sleeping in {probably one of my favorites luxuries!}, shopping and strolling about.  we also stayed at the wonderful hotel havana - and the colors in the bar {plus their delicious cocktails} made us very happy!  thank you thank you omi and papa for watching logan while we got away!

home tour weekend.

{april 4, 2014}

what a whirlwind of a weekend.  it was fun and festive, yet also totally exhausting, draining and frustrating.  we kicked off the weekend with the candlelight dinner, which included us opening up our home so those attending the dinner could get a sneak peak of the homes on tour.  then, we headed over to silver street studio to celebrate the home tour kick off with a fundraising auction.  it was a wonderfully festive evening of getting dressed up {pictured above}, dinner and cocktails, and bidding on auction items.  then, we returned to our car to find it had been broken into.  nothing is more frustrating than people stealing your stuff.  so we spent the better part of saturday tying up loose ends {which we are still working on today - yuck}.  but we will get there.  it was totally surreal to have strangers walking through our home, asking us questions and for the most part telling us that they liked our home.  {just a few snarky comments were heard about "not having a bathtub in the master bath" or "why didn't they add more storage in the master closets."} but, whatevs - we love our home and it truly didn't bother me a bit.  sadly, the weather didn't cooperate either - lots of rain and clouds on sunday - so it was a slow day.  overall, it was a crazy, fun and wonderful experience.  would i do it again anytime soon - no thank you!  am i glad we jumped in and went for it - yes!  we met and worked with some lovely people in our neighborhood, which made us even more happy to be right where we are!  it really pushed us to get out of our comfort zone and to complete a bunch of house projects that we have been putting off.  so happy monday friends - i'm off to crawl back into bed cause we also have been fighting colds this weekend.
