our texas weekend.

well, we ventured back to texas this past weekend...

this time to celebrate our friend will and elizabeth's wedding.

we couldn't get enough of the sunny and 70 degree weather in houston.

we caught up with more old high school friends as well as enjoyed time with our families.

our time in texas was delightful!

snow day!

dc's biggest snow storm of the season hit last night 

and boy did the snow come down fast.

poor husband was caught in the car on his commute home for 

SEVEN hours last night.

at least he was carpooling with dave...

so they could keep each other company.

needless to say i got a snow day from school and

husband is working from home today.

stay warm and safe today dc friends!

color wheels.

aren't these vintage color wheels delightful?  as an art teacher, i'm constantly discussing and teaching my students about color from different color wheels set up in my classroom.  i love how these vintage prints give the color wheel such a romantic look.  how fun would it be to collect these?  maybe even put a cluster on a wall together?  i like it.  i like it very much.

this past weekend we traveled down south

to the land of margaritas, whataburger and old highschool friends.

we were in san antonio to celebrate the union 

of our sweet friend benji to his bride, bianca.

we had such a ball - i kept forgetting to get my camera out.

beautiful tejas.

this weekend we spent time in beautiful tejas.  we enjoyed the food and lovely oak trees.  spent time with old friends and family.  helped our friends, benji and bianca, celebrate tying the knot.  and the 60 degree weather with sunshine was not too bad either.  i heart tejas in january.

p.s. - we got quite the ice storm last night as we headed home and today i got a day off from work due to the icy roads.

hooray!

a lazy weekend.

a super lazy weekend indeed.  and it was splendid.  we kept cozy by the fire.  enjoyed seeing true grit, which all of yall should run to the movie theater to see in my opinion.  took a bunch of naps - our favorite weekend pastime.  and enjoyed a lovely evening at the buckleys with the cheek clan.  it was so wonderful to finally catch up with our dear friends after the craziness of the holidays....

kevin's bday celebration.

our very sweet landlords invited us to partake in kevin's birthday celebration last night.  we ventured over to CulinAerie where they hosted a lovely evening of drinks, dinner, neighbors, and a cooking class.

i just love the idea of having a bday celebration while taking a cooking class.  it was wonderfully interactive and we had way too much FUN!

here are kevin and i poaching an egg for our delicious frieze salad complete with a crouton and cubes of bacon - yummmm!

bits from our weekend include:

1. movie and dinner date to see the latest Harry Potter movie on IMAX at the Natural History Museum.

(i screamed out loud at one of the scary parts - it was THAT good.)

2. woke up to a snow dusting on saturday morning.

3. lunch at one of our favorite pizza places - 2Amys.

4. double date with our dear friends, katie and dave, at the lovely masa 14.

(they have mouth watering tapas.)

5. naps, naps and more naps.

jeffrey couldn't stop belting the catchy tune of "don't stop belizing" the entire time we were in belize.

and it is a catchy tune - it kinda grew on me.
