logan's playroom.

the little nook we carved out to be logan's playroom/family office is also almost complete!  well, at least the playroom side is....still working on the family office/desk area {which you can see a bit of on the left side of the picture below}.  i'm sure the playroom will continue to evolve as we add another nugget to the mix and as the kiddos get older, but this is it for now.

we snatched another ethnic rug while we were rug shopping a couple of weekends ago.  this one is turkish and thought it played well with the red we already have in this room.

these bins are NEVER this organized.  i just do it for the pictures.  so who knows the next time i will organize these bins.

logs art wall.  i just painted clip boards in different shades of turquoise.  some of these creations are from mother's day out and others are done at home {with mama}.

living room.

the living room is almost complete!  it is the first room you walk into when you enter the house {the front door is actually to the left of that green chair}.  i have been swooning over a campaign dresser for over a year now and have done tons of research on ebay, craigslist and local thrift shops.  i either found crappy ones or a campaign desk/small dresser.  so, we decided to have our cabinet maker construct one and we got to choose the exact size, lay out, color and hardware.  i'm super happy we didn't compromise and just went this route, which ended up being cheaper than being an authentic campaign dresser!  we found that green chair in a little antique place in good ole gruene, texas.  i picked up the plates at my favorite thrift shop - the guild shop - and used those nifty plate hangers to hang them on the wall.

ainsworth xmas card contender.

last night, we gathered at my cousin michael's for a belated celebration of jeffrey's bday.  we have started this lovely little tradition with my two cousins, michael and meredith, of gathering for each other bdays and celebrating with cupcakes and champagne.  i don't know how the conversation of guns and lets go shoot in the back yard got started - but it definitely happened last night and was oh so much fun!

happy weekend yall!

the bar.

jeffrey has a lot of scotch and other nice drinky things, so we really wanted to put them on display.  we kept looking around at all "the bars" our there and man are they pricey.  luckily jeff had the idea of moving an old dresser {since i have had since my college days} into the dining room to act as the bar.  i then added a festive tray and we created a little bar in the corner of our dining room.  the great thing is it is too tall for logan to reach - so hopefully it can stay there for a while!

logan's room.

we are finally done with logan's room!  we reused alot of her existing furniture that we had in dc and added a few things here and there.  we are hopeful that she can really "grow" with this room because we are already thinking that we will try to move the crib over for the new babe and logan will get a toddler bed.  we shall see how this plays out....but for now we are super happy with the results.

logan's first haircut.

turns out she is not a fan of haircuts.  it literally took 5 seconds - i was just trying to shape up the hair around her face since it keeps falling in her eyes when she refuses to wear a clip.  i made sure the stylist didn't touch her curls in the back :)  so to anyone else - you can't even tell she got a haircut.  looks like it might be a while until we give it another go.

happy friday everyone!!

children's museum {in atlanta}.

i was super impressed with the children's museum in atlanta.  it is geared towards kids aged 1 to 5 or 6 ish with a TON of different exhibits.  in my experience it has been hard to find museums and activities to do with a toddler - all the kid friendly activities seem to be geared toward ages 4/5 and up.  but, this place was made for toddlers and logan was in heaven.

logan liked the milking part, but became quite nervous when the cow mooooooed at her.

this one is for you mags and trav!
a glimpse into her camping days.

atlanta aquarium.

last week, we ventured to atlanta as a family.  jeff's company is based out of atlanta, so he went there for work and logs and i just tagged along.  luckily, my aunt {dad's sister} and uncle live in atlanta and are located just 15 minutes away from the atlanta office.  so it was win win.  other than the throw up bug logs rocked when we first got there, we had a ball!  dianne, ray, logan and i kept busy during the day and then we had lovely long and delicious meals at night time.  it was a wonderful trip and we hope to go back again soon!

here are few pics of the amazing atlanta aquarium!  logan seemed pretty interested in the fish, but her favorite part was the big balls hanging from the ceiling.  that girl is obsessed with anything circular these days.

crepes.

well, hello!  sorry for my silence, but i feel like i am finally starting to feel better after almost 2 months of morning sickness {which lasts all day by the way - or at least it did for me}.  this time around, the sickness and exhaustion seemed even more challenging with a toddler running around - even though i was still teaching when i was going through it in my last pregnancy.  those toddlers just.don't.stop. even for a second :)

anyways, the cravings have begun and yes i'm eating a nutella crepe every morning like i did with logan.  i just can't seem to enjoy anything else for breakfast.  so, i have been using this super easy recipe.  logan has as well {but sadly cannot have nutella due to the hazelnuts, but has been enjoying the crepes dipped in honey}.  i believe we have a sweet tooth problem on our hands.

so far, the pregnancy has been pretty darn close to my pregnancy with logan - which makes me wonder if we are having another girl!?  jeff and i could seriously care less about what we are having - but of course i cannot wait to find out!  which will be the very beginning of october.  i will of course keep yall posted.

surprise!

baby ainsworth #2 is on the way!!  we are of course THRILLED and the little nugget should be arriving this february 2014!  not only are we so happy to be expanding our family to four, but i just can't wait to see logan with this little baby.  her names for baby at the moment include - baba, babas, and my favorite bebe {she sounds so french when she says bebe}.  i think there will be lots of hugs {maybe too many} and lots of interest in helping out {at least we hope so} and hopefully not too much jealously {yeah right}.  but we do know there will be lots and lots of love in our house and that is what we are so joyful about!
