reunited!

for our long weekend, we headed to baton rouge, la to visit our buddies the somogyis!  logan and luca were reunited, the babies (nora and g) got to play and the parents got to catch up!  a lovely trip except for the fact that logan starting puking and ran a fever on day 2, which made for a tough combination of play time and rest/whiny time.  but, hey we will try again soon!  thanks for hosting us sweet friends!

spreading gagee and da's ashes.

my wonderful grandparents, gagee and da, passed away 9 and 4 years ago.  they didn't want any kind of funeral and donated their bodies to science, yet there wasn't much closure on their passing.  so last monday, we gathered at their farm in jewett, texas to spread their ashes among some dogwood trees {their favorite}.  we kept the celebration happy and light.  we told some stories and popped some bubbles as we reminisced.  it was a full day of driving there and back {in a limo so we could all be together}; it was a lovely celebration of our beloved gagee and da.

nora's nursery.

well, i'm finally getting around to taking pictures of nora's completed nursery.  we converted our guest room into her nursery and as you can see from the pictures, it is located in the very front of the house.  we reused some items from logan's nursery: the crib, changing table, mobile and diaper station shelves.  we then added the rug, day bed and dresser {from ikea!} with some embellishments {like gold triangle decals from etsy}.  this room turned out way more girlie and feminine than logans....i just saw that rug and had to have it :)  and then designed the room around the colors found in the rug.  here are some pictures...

welsh progressive dinner 2015.

 we have started a little tradition....every may the welsh cousins that live in the heights host a welsh family progressive dinner.  this year we had a blast with beer tasting at the brooks, a sandwich bar at michaels and movie night at our casa.  we borrowed an old projector and snuggled up to watch the sandlot :)  jeff got creative with flavored popcorn {honey butter and parmesan herb} along with lots of sweet treats.  we had such a ball with the outdoor movie, we think we are gonna make this a regular thing at our house - summer 2015 here we come!

4 months {nora james}.

 

my dearest nora bear,

four whole months!  and i have to say, you are entering into my favorite age as a baby.  four months until crawling is my jam.  you continue to smile a ton and even strangers are telling me how smiley and happy you are.  and your cute dimples are still going strong :)  you get fussy when you get woken by your sister, which is happening a lot these days, but who can blame you.  i would get fussy too.

daddy is the only one successful in making your giggle and laugh for periods of time.  i wonder if this means you are gonna be a daddy's girl?  you also always have to have your big sister in sight.  she seems to always be able to entertain you.  i hope yall will always be close.     

you are playing with toys and fascinated by your hands right now.  you also seem to self soothe by sucking on your fingers.  i wonder if you will be a thumb sucker like me? 

we are LOVING seeing you grow and develop into the little person you are meant to be.  it is a JOY to see and we are so lucky you are a part of our little family.  we love you so much sweet girl.

happy mother's day!

happy mother's day to all the mamas, mamas to be, mamas in waiting out there!  hope everyone had a wonderful celebration with loved ones over the weekend.  my family took GREAT care of me on the special day....breakfast in bed, brunching at bistro menil, a little art museum action, celebratory dinner with the grandmas and family, and not having to change a diaper or wash any bottles/pump stuff for the whole day - heaven i tell you!

sadly, we didn't snap a picture of me and girls yesterday and i realized we actually don't have a picture of all three of us - so will will have to work on that.  in the meantime, hope everyone has a great week!
