miss logan's park party.

we celebrated logan turning THREE this weekend with a little park party with some family and friends.  originally the party was planned for saturday, but with the forecast calling for 100% rain - we moved it to sunday.  and i'm so glad we did - it was the perfect day for a park party.  we kept it super simple with chick fil A nuggets, pasta salad, fruit and a funfetti cake from a box along with some 'oh joy' party gear from target i snagged a few months back.  it was super simple and tons of fun celebrating our gal!!  thanks for all the buddies and family who came out to help us celebrate - we felt oh so loved!

logan's first school picture.

the hands are my favorite.  or maybe the big ole grin.  or the crossed legs at the ankles {such good manners, your mimi will be so proud}.  needless to say, i love this first school pic of our logi bear.

also, a funny little story about my bangs.  when i went to go pick up logan from school after i had my haircut, she starts bawling {i'm talking big ole tears down her face} and saying "i don't like your haircut mommy."  "where is your old one?"  she has FINALLY stopped telling me she doesn't like my new haircut after over a week.  so you can tell this little gal loves change.  shall be interesting to see how she handles becoming a big sister, i'm thinking it will take MONTHS, hey maybe even years for her to adjust.  we shall see :)  only 7 more weeks to go!

a little sprinkle.

my dear, thoughtful and wonderful friend, angela, threw me a little baby "sprinkle" last saturday.  and my mom was so sweet to help out as well.  angela created a lovely setting at the charming backstreet cafe complete with ponies {my favorite flower!}, "wishes for the baby" cards, and homemade bath salts for everyone to take home.  some family and close friends helped me celebrate this little girl on the way and we are so grateful.  the morning was filled with love, support and celebration; so thank you for all of you that came out, we felt so very loved.

handmade notecards.

last week, logs made these little handmade note cards.  we took some tissue paper {i went ahead and cut the shapes}, and she picked which ones she wanted and then attached them to the note card using modge podge.  i did a small little layer of modge podge over her designs to make sure they stayed attached.  so simple and so fun.

feast of the beasts.

feast of the beast fun with friends at the houston zoo.  lots of good eats, good times with friends, and lovely lights at the zoo.  even sugar ray made an appearance :)  but the highlight was riding the carousel at night {after some drinks had been consumed}.  loving this festive season!

our little flower girl.

after our halloween craze, we jumped into the car first thing on saturday morning and drove to weimer, texas for the family wedding of lauren and max.  the weather was PERFECT and the setting was spectacular.  a true texas ranch style wedding complete with lovely oak trees, a red barn, wild flowers and lots of texas cowboy boots.  it was a wonderful celebration of cousin lauren and her new husband max.  logan was asked to be a flower girl for the first time and we felt so honored to be included in the festivities.  and i was just happy logan actually got down the aisle!  the older flower girls helped alot and boy did logan take her flower girl responsibilities seriously; taking out one petal at a time to throw on the ground.  when she got to alter, she was not done and proceeded to pick one flower petal out at a time until she was all done.  there was also a moment during the ceremony to which jeff catapulted gummy worms over to a cousin to hand to logan to keep her quiet; worked like a charm.  as soon as the ceremony was over, logs was back in the rocks and playing with sticks with her cousins and was in heaven.  all in all a lovely celebration!
