baby jack!!
jeff and i flew up to phoenix this past weekend to meet our new nephew, jack sims. he is just the sweetest little baby and we had the best time getting to know him. he is all smiles these days and is wonderfully portable - so we had some AMAZING meals out {we were so impressed with the restaurants!! so so good!}. and it was of course so very wonderful to see becca and chris as new parents. we knew they would be rock stars at the whole parenting thing - but it was so special to see it in person! thanks for being such gracious hosts becca and chris - we had an absolute blast!

handmade cards.
wanted to share these fun handmade cards that logan and i made together for mother's day as well as some thank you cards. i cut out the circles and put them into three groups - small, medium and large. i then, made small piles of each size. logan chose one large circle, one medium circle and one small circle. then, she did the gluing herself with a glue stick and then pasted them on the card. {i had already glued the stems on the paper}. super simple and super fun!
p.s. - also, i forgot to mention in yesterdays post that my favorite part of mother's day is when the three of us were having breakfast and jeff made some joke. logan busted out with "daddy is cray cray." ha! jeff has taught logan to say that "mama is cray cray" - but she said this one without a prompt at all - and had us laughing for hours!

my mother's day.
my mother's day was filled with love, joy and home cooked meals. and i could not be more grateful for my little family taking such great care of me. we ate home made crepes for breakfast, ventured on a walk around our hood, home made sandwiches for lunch, a toddler who refused to nap {yikes - this is four days in a row!!}, and ended with a lovely evening with my own parents and home made steaks on the grill! thank you for all the love my loved ones!

logan at 2.5 years old.
our little logan is such a spitfire these days. she continues to be a ball of energy, and is constantly on the move. she loves to run away from us and yell, "come chase me!" and "i'm fast!" and she is. we are in a full on spirit to catch her. we are doing more art projects at home these days as summer rolls in to which she keeps saying "this is fun mommy!" she has finally stopped putting everything in her mouth and isn't constantly exploring the materials. she LOVES to read {or be read to actually}, enjoys her bath time/swimming lessons, and loves to bust a move when she hears music. she continues to be BIG on hugs and kissing her own boo boo when she gets hurt.
with all the wonderful and delightful aspects of this age, logan has also entered the terrible twos in a lot of ways. tantrums are at every corner {some lasting two seconds and others lasting all afternoon}. she has started to rock no naps about every 10 days, which is AWFUL - i hope hope this does not continue. mama still needs a break! she fights me on everything and things have to be done by herself - "i do it myself!" getting dressed in the morning is a full on 30 minute endeavor because little logs doesn't want to get out of her pjs. i might have restored to giving her bribes {raisins covered in yogurt}. and potty training is a whole other issue. we started off great and i thought - we got this and now she refuses to even sit on the toiet.
but, we press on! {as my buddy megan would say!} and i try to remind myself that it will not always be like this forever {the good and the bad} - so we need to savor it. i'm sure we will blink and we will be missing this stage. we also need to practice our patience a little more. always a little bit more with a toddler. we love you dearly sweet pea!
